In the mood for pancakes

Hi, hello
Welcome to the first installment of my new series about cafes in Tokyo.
I’m a big fan of trying new places and why not share my little adventures here.

Can you believe that it’s been more than a year since I properly ate pancakes?
Me neither. So this Sunday me and my boyfriend decided to changed that and found just the place to go.

Located 15 minutes from Jiyugaoka station in Tokyo is a pancake shop called RusaRuka.
This place has a perfect atmosphere to relax and forget about your hectic daily life, even if it’s just for a couple of hours. Although I do have some questions for the interior designer(these animal heads are not the for the Halloween), the cafe overall is really nice and worth visiting at least once.

But let’s move to the most important part…

The food

Hosently, I think everything can find something for themselves there.
Are you in a mood for something sweet? There is wide range of dessert pancakes. Caramel, chocolate, fruit, berries or maybe just simple pancakes with powder sugar and butter? They have it.
Our sweet pancake of choice was the chocolate with nuts and banana.

They also have caramel option for this one.

I think, there are some people like me who will prefer non-sweet option.
Don’t worry, they have something for us as well.
Pancakes with cheese, pancakes with omplette, mexican pancakes and, of course, non-pancake dishes like spaghetti and rice dishes if that’s what you are looking for.

My initial choice was teriyaki chicken pancakes but I guess it’s one of their popular options and it was sold out. So I opted for pancake sandwiches instead.

All of the pancakes come with a drink set option and non-sweet pancakes come with a salad and a soup (which I gave to my bf since it head onions in it).

Oh, and one more thing.
This place offers free pancakes if your portion was not big enough for you and you’re craving for more.
We actually asked for additional pancakes because there was soooo much topping on the sweet ones.

Overall thoughts?
Well, if it’s not for the location which is quite far from my home, I would definitely go again.
Good sized portions for a reasonable price, nice atmosphere and welcoming staff will definitely not disappoint.

Would you visit this place?

Do people even read blogs anymore?

I woke up a couple of days ago with the thought that I miss my old blogging days.

I miss constant brainstorming, research and sleepless nights when I tried to finished posts on time (cause, you know, I must stick to the schedule).

I even miss countless hours which I spent trying to set up that stupid little page just to later face the white screen of death because I forgot to save. Ah, sweet memories. (Edit after going through all of this again: I in fact DO NOT miss it. Please send help)

So as soon as I got to my laptop I started putting “Wordpress” in the search bar…and then another thought hit me:

Do people even read blogs anymore?

With the rise of short video content and clip thinking as a result do people actually spent time reading long posts? Do I even need a blog if nobody ever going to read it?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not doing this in hope of gaining millions of followers and views on my page. But let’s be honest, there is no point in posting something online if you don’t want to share it with somebody, right?

Quick Google search and…wow, they in fact do. Time to set up my new page.

This time I don’t want to put my self in a box of one topic and burn out again like I did before.

This time this page is going to be about me: what I love, what I do, what is around me everyday. So if you are curious about that – welcome!

And I hope we can be friends:)

XOXO,

Gossip Girl Anna
